- The front of the car is based on the the 2017 Holden Commodore SS.
- The name Adelaide comes from South Australia's capital city, Adelaide. It housed at the time, the largest Holden manufacturing plant in Australia, it was located in the Elizabeth South suburb. The plant ceased operation in October 2017.
- In February 2020 General Motors announced the termination of the Holden brand within Australia, this effectively lead to the end of the Australian car manufacturing industry.
- This was the first Ute (coupe utility) vehicle to be added to Ultimate Driving, second being the Ford Falcon Ute XR8.
