The Chipmunk Hill Tunnel is a mountain tunnel in UD: Delancy Gorge. There are two tunnels, one for each carriageway of I-80. The clearance is unknown, but trucks can fit in the tunnel. The Chipmunk Hill Tunnel travels under a mountain, most likely known as Chipmunk Hill. It is unknown what will be on the west tunnel portal, most likely being the town of Lancaster based on road signs.
Overview[]
The Chipmunk Hill Tunnel is situated northwest of Gerard Ferry. You can drive through the tunnel only in UD: Delancy Gorge. It would run all the way to Lancaster, shown on I-80 road signs. The tunnel will most likely be removed after the release of the Delancy Overhaul. It is unknown what will replace the tunnel, if anything. This could possibly be deleted all together and be replaced with an onramp to Delancydrome Speed Complex.
Trivia[]
- The tunnel was originally known as the Squirrel Hill Tunnel, before being renamed to Chipmunk Hill Tunnel.
- This is one of only eight tunnels in the UDU. The other seven are the Harriston Ridge Tunnel, the Odessa Hill Tunnel, the John W. Rudge Tunnel, the DE 508 Mount Astley Tunnel, the I-76 Cape Henlopen-Mount Astley Tunnel and the two Harriston Bay Tunnels.
- The tunnel will likely be replaced by a ramp to the Delancydrome Speed Complex instead.
